Arte Facilities
The ARTE Music Academy is housed in the Art Mansion, a traditional neoclassical building from 1915, the restoration of which was completed in 1999 and was carried out according to the specifications of a modern Music Educational Institution. It is located in the heart of Nicosia, within walking distance of the old town, opposite the central bus station and the “Levention Art Gallery”.
The building consists of three levels of spaces:
- Ground floor level: the ornate entrance leads to the Great Hall of Events, which is flanked by auxiliary spaces and 2 classrooms
- Ground floor: 6 classrooms and a library, arranged around the central solar – reception area.
- Semi-basement level: 3 main elongated rooms surrounded by auxiliary pantry areas, with direct access to the garden and the free open space.
Concert hall:
The educational offer of the Concert Hall is extremely important, since it provides students with the opportunity to practically apply what they are taught and to gain valuable experience through the various concerts that they can take part in or attend, since the hall hosts important concerts with artists who excel in the international music scene. This hall provides all the necessary conditions for proper acoustics of the space, based on a special study for this purpose.
Library:
The Academy has a library with a large range of Greek and foreign language musicological books, a rich discography with CD’s, DVD’s, a reading room and a library archive.
Infrastructure – equipment:
With scientific care and aesthetic perfection, the building’s spaces were equipped with all the facilities that offer comfortable movement, safe stay and perfect scientific operation. Safe escape exits and a fire detection installation fully ensure fire safety. Access ramps and a special sanitary area ensure comfortable movement and stay for people with special needs.
Special ceilings, specialized materials and accessories in the openings, offer complete acoustic insulation. Lighting, both general and specific, create a comfortable working atmosphere. Musical Equipment:
The spacious classrooms are equipped with a wealth of state-of-the-art musical equipment, as well as musical instrument equipment from the best manufacturers, including four grand pianos and a large number of upright pianos.
